Projector Ceiling Mount Archives

Why won't my projector mount tilt?

I just bought a projector that came with a universal projector mount (The brand is loch PM 1). When I mounted it, the picture is just a TAD higher than my screen. If I can angle it down, it would be perfect...the instructions say it can tilt, but it doesn't say how to make it do so (to make it harder, the instructions were obviously not written by someone with a grasp on the English language). Does anyone have any experience with that type of mount and could clue me in on how this thing works?

How can I hide a projector in a normal wall?

l'll try my best to provide the details...I appreciate any and all responses.

I am using a high-traffic room in the house as a home theatre room.

I want to do something to hide the projector as well. I can't use the ceiling area for a couple of reasons, so that only leaves the wall directly opposite the screen. The wall is a standard 3 1/2 cavity and my projector is 2.9" tall, so it will fit standing "on end". My basic plan is to cut out a 12"x16" chunk of drywall and replace with a piece of hardwood or steel. (not decided yet). The projector will mount to this piece and this piece will hinge to the wall itself (actually the new framing that I will put in the wall). The otherside will have a picture attached to hide everything. I have two issues...a hinge that extends approximately 1.5 inches before rotating and a type of linear actuator or motor that will lower the "mount" to the correct position and of course - retract it.

      Front or rear projection?

Am planning to put on film night in a local hall that can sit up to appx 100 people.

What's best - front or rear projection?

NB: The projector won't be permanently mounted (eg slung from the ceiling).
Thanks for the advice - but when I say rear-projection, I mean using a big big rear projection screen (not a RPTV), and then having a stand-alone projector behind it.

Wouldn't this mean you can also have any size screen you want?
ok thanks - i had a friend telling me I had to do rear projection but, as I suspected, he was talking nonsense.

What r the different size s of the screen. I have a 16' by 32' with 8' ceiling in my basement.

      Please reply.
      Thanks

      Wireless Video Projection?

I am trying to setup a dual projector system at our church to show videos and sheet music on two separate walls. We have 2 projectors already mounted to the 30ft. ceilings so I am looking for a wireless adapter that has two outputs so we can stream video from a computer to the projectors. Anyone have a suggestions on what I could use? Thanks in advance.

I need help with a Home Theater setup?

I am wanting to get a home theater system with a projector and i have picked out a screen that will fit my room and is the right price but i don't know what kind of projector i need or how far away its going to have to be from the screen. The screen i was looking at is a Elite Screens 125" Diagonal, View 61" x 108.5" Spectrum Multipurpose Electric/Motorized Screen and i took the measurements and it will fit. I need someone to help me out by telling me what projector i will need that will work good for this screen and how far back it will need to be so i know if i will need to pick out a small screen because i can't get the projector far enough back. Also i will be mounting the projector from the ceiling above my bed if that makes any difference.
i am looking for a digital projector that i can plug stuff like my laptop and my play station 3 into
I'm looking to spend between 00 and 00 on the projector and the max throw distance is 150" because I'm going to try to mount the projector from the ceiling with a mounting bracket.
