At the office we have an Infocus LP540. I'm planning on mounting the projector from a ceiling post and leaving it there for my training room. Well our company just moved and we spent a lot of money. So I'm a little scared to buy an infocus vga amplifier kit for 0 cause I don't want to spend more money. So I want to be able to connect my projector and save money doing it. Can anyone help me connect my projector to the computer. Its about 30ft distance??

I have a run of component video cable going from my reciever to the projector mounted on the ceiling. the cables are 25' length. The problem is, when an image consisting of bright white material ( snow or a flash) my Infocus 4805 drops the video signal out and says "searching for signal" what gives ???, it does not do this with an s-video or composite feed.
thanks
nolan
the run is 25 ft because the projector is mounted on the ceiling! I do not use the s-video as a main connection, because component is a far superior connection.
And the current cables Are a high quality component cable. If you think spending 0 on "monster double uranium Digital cables" is beneficial then you are a sucker with too much money to burn.

Im talking about a setup too, so a projector with a proper screen mounted on the ceiling or an HDTV? Which one do you think would be better? What model would you reccommend?
A projector with the right amount of lumens does well in light, I have a decent one in my classroom and it looks great in light.

Okay, as a reward for my son for doing well in his exams me and my husband are going to buy him a projector we have decided on the Optoma HD700X and we have bought a screen as well as a ceiling mount. My question is, what do we have to do to stop the wires showing from his projector on the ceiling to his PlayStation. He is going to connect it via HDMI so will there just be wires hanging from the ceiling down to his playstation?

I have a projector mounted on my ceiling to watch movies and play games. The only gripe I have with it is that I have to walk up to the projector (really close) and use the remote to power it off. I've heard there is a device that extends the range of the remote so I can control the projector even from long distances. Is that so? If so, where can I get one? Thank you.

I get digital TV, including HD, from the cable company. I have a ceiling mounted projector (older) and it is connected to the co-ax cable directly. I want to change the projector to a Sanyo PLV-Z60, which accepts HDMI. I cannot have a cable box where the projector is installed, as it is too big. Is there a small (3x3x1) box that accepts coax and outputs HDMI?
Thanks one/all for the answers. They seem to confirm that such a box is not out there, yet. Strange. If cable-box makers (like Cisco/SA) can make cable-boxes that take in digital co-ax and out HDMI, I would think that others could too.

Hello-I am trying to set up a home theater system. Currently, I have a projector that is hooked up to the ceiling using a mount. I am connecting a DVD player to the Projector to watch movies. Where should I put the DVD player? Underneath the screen? Closer to the projector? Any suggestions will be very helpful. Thank you!
