I live in a rental apartment. My walls are white, my furniture & accessories are different elements of brown, beige, chocolate, gray, black, leather, steel and glass. My BF is a big home theater nut, and we originally had a small video projector in silver, which was propped up on a tri-pod behind our sectional sofa. A projector screen pulled up to the ceiling from the floor. However, my BF recently bought a new video projector (he said the latest one is better, blah blah blah.) But the new one is also bigger (about 2 feet long), is heavier, and comes in black only. Since it's too big for the tri-pod, he mounted it on a black shelf on our white wall, and the thick black cord dangles down from it. It looks hideous. Everytime I walk into the room, the big black box that hangs from the middle of the wall stares back at me. Does anyone have suggestions on where else I can install the projector? Or, if the middle of the wall is the best spot for it, what can I do to minimize the look?

I have a roll-up projector screen that you pull down and it is supposed to go up. It is mounted to the ceiling and pulls down, anyways I was playing a video game and got mad and I threw a pillow at it (don't ask) well it rolled all the way up very fast, since then it will only go up part of the way it is impossible to get it to go up all the way. Is there anyway to fix this, my guess is there is something broken but I have no idea what it is. Thanks in advance for the answers. I am also open to redneck/jimmy rigged ideas.

oh it was mario party 8 and the wii mote would not read the sensor bar and I lost the game so I threw the pillow at it haha. I didn't think anything would happen.

My school wants to install a projector screen and ceiling projector mount in our auditorioum. Our audience is usually about 400 people and we mostly project power point presentations and short video clips. We are thinking we need a 12' wide screen with an electric motor. Our projector would have to hang down about 10' from the tall ceiling. We would probably need about 40' of cable to reach our projector from our PC. We already have an electrical supply. What would be the approximate cost of this project?
